Kites

Isaac and I went to the park today to fly kites. It was SO windy and COLD! We tried to get out there, but we ended up just playing on the playground. We haven’t been good at taking pictures lately, but we will try to get back on that bandwagon and get some new pictures up soon.

Getting better

I am getting better, but still not 100%. I don’t think I am 75% yet, either. I am supposed to work tomorrow, but it is already late afternoon and I literally haven’t moved the last couple hours. I know it is going to take time to feel up to chasing Isaac around and I am starting to feel sorry for the poor kid. He has watched Little Einstein’s “The Golden Pyramid” so much lately that he can actually say the words “Great Sphinx” and he is only 2!
He had 2 chocolate chip cookies last night after dinner and he didn’t fall asleep until 11pm and he was up around 6 am! Ugh! Just when I forget why we don’t let him have much sugar after dinner, this happens. When will mommy learn?

Good news

My surgery went well. It was scheduled for 11:30am and by the time we got there, I was tired and hungry. Isaac woke up 3 times during the night and I couldn’t eat anything past midnight before the procedure. (Next time you see Jeff, give him a bad time about stopping at Starbucks for breakfast while his wife was starving.) Then we had to wait an extra hour because they were running late in the operating room. I didn’t need the laparoscopy, which was great!
After the surgery, Jeff and I went to a hotel where I could doze off the nausea of the anesthesia. The hotel room was really nice and I was thankful for a comfortable bed. The next day, we found took our time getting out of LA and found a Panera Bread in Brentwood for breakfast. We stopped in Camarillo at the Factory Outlets and slowly made our way home. I was very tired after popping into a couple stores and slept on the way home. I actually found a dress to wear to my cousin’s wedding!
I have been taking it easy today and feel more tired today than yesterday. I am glad I took the rest of the week off.
Isaac went on a “Mission” today with Mrs. Gloria, Rebecca, and Elizabeth. We told him he was going to the Mission, not realizing it was La Purisima Mission, he thought he was going on a Little Einstein’s mission. He had a great time with his friends.

R and R

I am having surgery this week to correct a problem that occurred after I had Isaac. It is an outpatient procedure being done at a surgery center down in LA. I am SO happy to have this done in LA and not anywhere near Santa Maria. It is being done by a doctor who teaches at USC and I am feeling good about it. We are staying down there the day I have the surgery at a hotel so I can get some rest and relaxation before heading home. It sounds like a nice hotel and we are leaving Isaac with my mom and dad.
It is good to have so much support during times like this.
On a different subject, we have a friend who had a stroke in August. She is doing well and progressing through therapy, learning to talk and walk. Our church and her husband’s work put on a BBQ fundraiser for a van for her to get around in. Her husband is transferring her in and out of her car and is in desperate need of a van. They raised about $45,000 for her! God is still in the business of performing miracles!
